Smart Filters And Sherlock Mode

The Problem This Solves

Not all abandoned sessions are worth your time. Some are empty — a visitor who clicked the form and left immediately, with no name or phone number recorded. Others are the leads most likely to convert, buried in a long list. This guide explains two Plus-exclusive tools that solve both problems: Smart Filters that surface your best leads instantly, and Sherlock Mode that shows you exactly why a specific customer abandoned.

Qualified Leads Only

Go to Abandoned Checkout > Settings, open the Smart Filters sub-tab.

Enable the Qualified Leads Only toggle.

These sessions are not deleted. They remain in the raw data and reappear if you disable the filter. The toggle simply removes noise from your working view.

Smart Filter Buttons (Plus)

In the Sessions tab, the filter bar contains a Smart Filters button marked with a sparkle icon. Clicking it opens a menu with pre-built lead segments you can activate with a single click.

Lead Quality:

  • High Value — sessions where the order total exceeded your configured threshold
  • Has Email — sessions where the customer entered their email address
  • Has Phone — sessions where the customer entered their phone number
  • Multiple Errors — sessions that triggered repeated validation failures, often indicating a confused or frustrated customer
  • Long Duration — sessions where the customer spent significantly longer than average on the form

Time-Based:

  • Last Hour — sessions from the past 60 minutes
  • Today — all sessions captured since midnight
  • This Week — sessions from the current week

Multiple Smart Filters can be active simultaneously. The button displays a numbered badge showing how many are active at once.

Sherlock Mode (Plus)

Sherlock Mode is activated by a toggle in the top-right area of the Session Details panel header. It enhances the Event Timeline tab.

With Sherlock Mode OFF (standard view), the timeline shows only major milestones:

  • Form loaded
  • Form left / page hidden
  • Submit attempted
  • Exit intent detected
  • Idle timeout reached

With Sherlock Mode ON, the full interaction stream is revealed:

  • Which field the customer clicked into, and in what order
  • Whether they typed anything before leaving that field
  • Exactly which validation error appeared — and on which field
  • When they changed their wilaya or selected a shipping method
  • Every quantity adjustment
  • The precise moment they moved to close the tab (exit intent)

This level of detail lets you identify systemic friction points. If 30% of your abandoned sessions show a validation error on the phone field immediately before the customer leaves, that field is your conversion problem — not your product.
